Criteria for all Match Officials
In order to be considered for promotion, all match officials are required to have the following in place;
- Be a registered referee for the current season.
- Ensure that you have a good level of administration.
- Ensure that you are regularly available for County Cup fixtures throughout the season.
There are several other things that will be required of match officials, however these differ for each level of promotion and further details can be found below.
Level 4W to Level 3W Womens Regional Referee to Womens National Referee
- Be a registered referee for the current season.
- Ensure that you have a good level of administration.
- Pay a deposit fee that will be communicated to you at the application stage.
- Act as Referee in at least 20 fixtures. (15 fixtures must be within Tier 5 or 6 of the Womens Game)
- Act as Assistant Referee in at least 3 fixtures. (all games must be in open-age football)
- Be observed at least four times with an overall average mark of at least 71.
- Complete five pieces of FA Refereeing CPD as directed by the Middlesex FA Referee Department & FA Referee Department.
- Successfully complete a fitness test during the period 1st January to 31st December. The fitness test will consist of the following;
- 17/24 interval run.
- 2 x 40 meter sprints in under 6.4 seconds.
- Complete three Laws of the Game exams throughout the promotion period.
- Be observed at least four times with an overall average mark of at least 71.
Please note that there is a strict seasonal time limit. The promotion season commences on the 1st August and finishes at the end of the playing season. There are no mid-season promotions.
Referees who complete the criteria for promotion to Level 3W will be nominated to the FA and the FA will then decide on who is promoted based on official requirements at that level and the average marks achieved.
